"I think one of the most important things I can do for my patients is be there for them when they need someone to answer their questions about surgery or recovery. I also feel it’s important to be there for my patients emotionally, allowing them to cry or vent, and giving them a hug or laugh when they need it. That makes my day."

Nurse Practitioner
Nurse practitioner Sarah Tuohy left a hospital that she worked at for 12 years for the opportunity to work for Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA). She says, “At CTCA, I am able to provide the best care possible to the patients I see, and so are the doctors that I work with.”
In December 2009, Tuohy joined the surgical oncology team at CTCA at Midwestern Regional Medical Center. She primarily assists Dr. Charles Komen Brown, helping care for patients who have undergone cancer-related surgical procedures. She continually checks on inpatients during their recovery and stay at the hospital, helping ensure their questions and medical needs are immediately addressed.
Tuohy completed the University of Wisconsin-Parkside/Milwaukee’s Consortial Nursing Program to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a certified advanced practice nurse prescriber and family nurse practitioner. Additionally, Tuohy holds certifications in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support.
Tuohy is a member of the Wisconsin Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing.
