"I really appreciate the fact that at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, patients are treated as individuals and the treatment they receive is much more than something simply based on a textbook protocol. No two patients are alike, and no one wants to be treated theoretically. Patients feel more comfortable and know that, at that moment, we are treating only them."

Samata Shroff, PA-C
Physician Assistant

As an extended care provider for gynecologic oncologist Dr. Sybilann Williams, physician assistant Samata Shroff helps to care for many of our patients who are fighting ovarian, cervical, uterine and other gynecologic cancers. She helps coordinate care for these patients in the hospital and at home.

Shroff obtains detailed medical histories for patients and performs physical and gynecological examinations. Working in conjunction with Dr. Williams, she also orders and interprets lab and imaging tests, writes orders for chemotherapy and prescribes medications to treat symptoms and side effects. Furthermore, she follows the recovery and progress of patients who have undergone surgical treatment.

Shroff’s field experience includes research studies focused on hypertension, type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis and other medical conditions.

One of the most important things Shroff feels she does is carefully listen to her patients. She makes sure to listen to and answer all of their questions and address any concerns they may have.

Shroff earned a master’s degree in physician assistant practice from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. Before pursuing her graduate education, she attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she graduated with honors and high distinction with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry.

Shroff is certified as a physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is also certified to provide basic life support.

She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, as well as the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants.
