"Although nutrition is important in all stages of life, those who are diagnosed with cancer have specialized nutritional needs. It’s my job to help patients meet those needs to stay nourished and strong."

Lindsay Wolfman, RD, LDN
Clinical Oncology Dietitian

At Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, registered and licensed dietitian Lindsay Wolfman works alongside medical oncologist Dr. Robert Levin, in addition to a naturopathic oncology provider, registered nurse and other care providers.

Wolfman notes, “Many cancer patients suffer from loss of appetite, weight loss, taste changes and other various side effects caused by their treatment. As a dietitian, I am able to help them through these difficult times by recommending specific nutritional supplements, vitamin and mineral supplements, meal plans, appetite stimulants and recipes.”

“I teach patients how to live a healthier lifestyle,” she adds. “I teach them about foods that can help their bodies during cancer treatment, and I strive to provide the best individualized nutrition plan possible based on each patient’s specific needs and cancer type.”

Wolfman earned a bachelor’s degree in food science and human nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed a dietetic internship at Edward Hines, Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, Illinois.

Wolfman is a member of the Chicago Dietetic Association, Illinois Dietetic Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly known as the American Dietetic Association). She also belongs to dietetic practice groups focused on oncology nutrition, sports cardiovascular and wellness nutrition, and integrative and functional medicine.

In her spare time, Wolfman enjoys yoga, running, baking, cooking and spending time with family, friends and her significant other.
