TomoTherapy® Highly Integrated Adaptive Radiotherapy (HI-ART) is just one of the many leading-edge lymphoma treatment options available at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA). Depending on the stage of the disease, your age, general health, and other factors, your CTCA radiation therapy team may consider TomoTherapy® HI-ART as part of your lymphoma treatment plan.

In one machine, the TomoTherapy® HI-ART system combines an advanced form of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), the accuracy of CT scanning technology, and advanced tools for planning and delivering radiation therapy.

TomoTherapy® HI-ART allows the radiation therapy team at CTCA to:

  • Sculpt and direct small, powerful and precise radiation beams at difficult-to-reach tumors or tissue
  • Accurately target tumors using built-in CT scanning to confirm the shape and position of the tumor before delivering radiation treatment
  • Focus radiation directly on cancerous tumor or tissue, thus reducing radiation exposure to healthy surrounding tissue, often dramatically

Where traditional methods project radiation on a tumor from only few directions, TomoTherapy® HI-ART technology allows your CTCA radiation therapy team to deliver precise and powerful doses of radiation from 360 degrees.

In addition, an on-board CT scanner helps your CTCA care team determine if your tumor has shifted or changed shape since your last treatment. This information allows your radiation oncologist to plan your lymphoma treatment better to avoid unnecessary damage to muscle tissue, the spine, lungs, and other sensitive organs.

Because of its precise delivery of radiation to targeted areas, TomoTherapy® HI-ART opens new doors to advanced radiation therapy treatments. If you have reached your maximum tolerance dose of traditional radiation, or if the tumor is in a difficult-to-reach area, TomoTherapy® HI-ART may be a promising lymphoma treatment option for you.

To learn if TomoTherapy® HI-ART is an appropriate lymphoma cancer treatment option for you, call us today at 1-1-800-615-3055 or chat online with a CTCA Oncology Information Specialist. We’ll schedule a consultation for you at one of our cancer hospitals.
