Fractionated-Dose Chemotherapy for Lymphoma
Fractionated-dose chemotherapy is a form of chemotherapy in which a standard chemotherapy dosage is divided into smaller amounts and administered over a longer period of time (e.g., three to five days). The cancer experts at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) have been offering fractionated-dose chemotherapy for several years.
Fractionated-dose chemotherapy differs from conventional chemotherapy in that chemotherapy drugs are introduced into the body over a span of days, rather than in a single, large dose. The theory is that the chemotherapy drugs can work against the cancerous cells for a longer period of time. In addition, fractionated-dose chemotherapy may help reduce some of the unpleasant side effects of standard chemotherapy, making your lymphoma treatment more tolerable.
