What Are The Lung Cancer Treatment Options at CTCA?

Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) is the home of compassionate, integrative care. Our lung cancer treatment program offers each patient access to a powerful breadth of conventional medical treatments, as well as nurturing, complementary therapies. Dedicated to patient empowerment, our team of cancer experts will work with you to help evaluate all available options for your lung cancer treatment. Then, together, we will help you develop a specific, individualized plan based on your unique needs. We encourage an open environment of collaborative communication, where all of the integrative care you receive is provided under one roof.

Lung Cancer Treatment Categories

We believe in treating the whole person—mind, body and spirit—and we are dedicated to providing integrative therapies that are most appropriate for you for lung cancer treatment. We understand that lung cancer doesn’t just affect a part of your body—it affects all of you and everything in your life.

At CTCA, conventional lung cancer treatments (e.g., surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy) are the foundation of our patients’ lung cancer treatment plans. These options have been tested by scientists and doctors for years and have successfully treated millions of patients.

Complementary/supportive lung cancer therapies offered at CTCA include nutritional support, naturopathic medicine, mind-body counseling, acupuncture, spiritual support, physical therapy and more. Your CTCA doctors will work with you to select the complementary treatments that are most appropriate for your individual needs.

Your lung cancer treatment plan will take several factors into consideration, including your type and stage of lung cancer, the results of your diagnostic tests and your personal needs.

Lung Cancer Clinical Research Study: Intratumoral Chemotherapy

Currently, Dr. Daniel Nader, National Clinical Director of Pulmonary/Critical Care at CTCA, is conducting a study for advanced-stage lung cancer at the Lung Center at CTCA at Southwestern Regional Medical Center. This patient-focused clinical trial combines radiation therapy with intratumoral chemotherapy.

In the study, cisplatin (the intratumoral chemotherapy) is injected directly into the patient’s tumor, allowing the tumor to become more sensitive when exposed to High-Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy, the second portion of the lung cancer treatment.

Note: This study is only being conducted at CTCA at Southwestern Regional Medical Center. For more information, please call 1-800-615-3055 or click to chat with an Oncology Information Specialist.
