Lung Cancer Treatment: Fractionated-Dose Chemotherapy

Learn More About Fractionated-Dose Chemotherapy for Lung Cancer: Chat with Us | Email Us

Your physicians at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) may recommend chemotherapy as part of your individualized, lung cancer treatment plan. Chemotherapy can be delivered to reduce the size of your cancerous tumor before surgery, as a primary treatment for metastatic lung cancer, and after surgery to prevent recurrence.

At CTCA, we will do everything in our power to help make your chemotherapy as tolerable as possible. Fractionated-dose chemotherapy is one delivery option that may be available to you, depending on your type of lung cancer, stage of cancer and size of tumor.

Fractionated-dose chemotherapy is a treatment option CTCA has offered for several years. With fractionated-dose chemotherapy, your treatment is given in smaller amounts over a number of days rather than in a single larger dose (i.e., standard chemotherapy). We believe that fractionated-dose chemotherapy can make chemotherapy more tolerable by reducing some of the unpleasant side effects.
