Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Hodgkin's Disease
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is one of the innovative diagnostic technologies we use at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) to help diagnose Hodgkin’s disease. With MRI, CTCA radiologists are able to precisely pinpoint the location of Hodgkin’s disease cells within your body.
Most MRI systems consist of a large tube-shaped or cylindrical magnet. When a patient is placed inside the MRI system, magnetic energy and radio waves create cross-sectional images or “slices” of the body. This helps map the location of Hodgkin’s disease cells.
Additionally, MRI helps CTCA radiologists and other specialists identify the exact stage of the disease. By classifying the stage of the Hodgkin’s disease, our experts are better able to effectively customize your treatment plan with the most appropriate Hodgkin's disease treatment regime for you.
