Health on the Net (HON) Foundation - Code of Conduct
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) believes that every cancer patient, no matter where they choose to receive their cancer treatment, has a fundamental right to be informed about, and to choose, the best available options for their cancer treatment.
This site has been reviewed and is in compliance with all seven criteria outlined in the Health on the Net Foundation Code of Conduct (HONcode) for medical and health Web sites.
Criteria One: Authoritative
All medical or health advice provided and hosted on this site has been reviewed by medically trained and qualified professionals. The medical information presented on this web site can be attributed back to one or more medical professionals, some of whom are associated with Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Information regarding many of our medical professionals can be found in the Physicians and Practitioners section of this site.
Criteria Two: Complementarity
The purpose of this web site is to provide cancer patients and their caregivers with an understanding of the CTCA model of care, and to provide some of the information needed to make an informed cancer treatment decision. Cancer Treatment Centers of America encourages cancer patients to discuss the treatment options outlined on this site with their current medical team. CTCA also provides telephone and chat line support for those who are exploring treatment options at a Cancer Treatment Centers of America facility.
Criteria Three: Privacy
Cancer Treatment Centers of America respects the confidentiality of data relating to individual patients and visitors of this site. Identifying information provided by our visitors is stored in our secure customer relationship management system. Non- identifying information, such as cookies and page tags, is used to improve this site’s ability to meet the needs of cancer patients and their caregivers. Our comprehensive privacy policy is accessible in the footer of every page of this site.
Criteria Four: Attribution
Where appropriate, medical information contained in this site is supported by clear references to source data. All clinical and medical articles include a creation date. In addition, the date of the most recent page update is displayed in the lower right-hand corner of every page of this site. News releases, published articles, and accreditations can be found in the News and Publications section of this site.
Criteria Five: Justifiability
The cancer patients featured on this site are actual patients from a Cancer Treatment Centers of America facility. Each one has agreed to share their journey of hope and healing with visitors to this site. Because every cancer challenge is unique and no case is typical, visitors to the site are reminded that they should not expect to experience the same results as those whose stories they have read/heard.
Criteria Six: Transparency
While every effort has been made to present information regarding cancer treatment options in clear and concise format, visitors are encouraged to provide feedback via the secure Opinion Lab link located in the lower right-hand corner of every page of this site.
Criteria Seven: Financial Disclosure
The Cancer Treatment Centers of America logo is displayed prominently on every page of this site, and copyright information can be found in the footer of every page.
Criteria Eight: Advertising Policy
Cancercenter.com does not presently accept advertising from any external sources.
