Uterine Cancer - Cancer that begins in tissues of the uterus (or womb). Part of the female reproductive system, the uterus is the hollow, pear-shaped organ in a woman's pelvis where a baby grows during pregnancy. The most common type of uterine cancer is endometrial cancer, which forms in the inner lining of the uterus (the endometrium). Uterine sarcoma is a much more rare type of uterine cancer, and forms in the muscles or other tissues of the uterus. Cancer that forms in the cervix (the organ connecting the uterus and vagina) is called cervical cancer. Uterine cancer usually occurs after menopause.
