Thrombocytopenia

Thrombocytopenia - A low blood platelet count. Platelets are the blood cells responsible for blood clotting. Thrombocytopenia can result in frequent or easy bruising and prolonged bleeding. Thrombocytopenia may be a side effect of some cancer treatments, like chemotherapy.
