Subcutaneous Injection - A method of injection which deposits medicine into the layer of fatty subcutaneous tissue beneath the skin (between the skin and the muscle). Subcutaneous injection may be a recommended drug delivery method, based on the type and dosage of medication (i.e., if it is a small amount), as well as the speed at which the medication needs to act (i.e., if the medication is designed to be slowly absorbed by the body).
