Spiral CT - A method of CT scanning that uses a continuous spiraling motion to take detailed pictures of the body. Using a computer linked to an x-ray machine, a spiral CT scan can generate a 3D image of the body and potential cancerous tumors. With speed and accuracy, spiral CT scanning can acquire large volumes of data with the patient in one position. Also called helical computed tomography.
