Remission - An absence of disease activity. A cancer is said to be in remission (or under control) when active symptoms or markers of the disease can no longer be detected. Remission can be partial (in which some, but not all, signs and symptoms have disappeared) or complete (in which all signs and symptoms have disappeared).
