Pancreatic Cancer Treatment - Pancreatic cancer treatment depends on patient-specific factors such as cancer type, stage, the location of metastases, and more. Surgery is one common pancreatic cancer treatment option. Surgeries may include a Whipple procedure, a total or distal pancreatectomy, and various palliative surgeries (e.g., surgical biliary bypass, endoscopic stent placement, gastric bypass) to help relief symptoms. Because pancreatic cancer surgery can have a high risk of complications, other recommended methods of treatment include radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and/or some forms of biotherapy/immunotherapy.
