Oral Cancer Symptoms - Oral cancer symptoms vary with each individual. Common oral cancer symptoms include the following: an open sore or lesion in the mouth that does not heal, white or red patches in the mouth, lumps in the mouth or thickening of the cheek, swelling of the jaw, difficulty in chewing or swallowing, and numbness of the tongue or other areas of the mouth. Because early diagnosis of oral cancer is important, a medical professional should be consulted to determine whether or not symptoms are the result of oral cancer, or a different condition.
