Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer - Any type of skin cancer which does not occur in pigment-producing cells of the skin (melanocytes). Basal cell carcinoma (which occurs in basal cells that line the deepest layer of the epidermis) and squamous cell carcinoma (which occurs in squamous cells in the skin's upper epithelial layer) are both considered non-melanoma skin cancers.
