Metastatic Kidney Cancer - Cancer that originates in the kidney, but then spreads from the kidney to other areas of the body, such as the spine, ribs, pelvis, and proximal long bones. Because primary kidney cancer tumors can grow quite large without causing any noticeable symptoms, kidney cancer is often not discovered until a metastasis develops. Also known as advanced kidney cancer.
