Metastatic Breast Cancer - Cancer that originates in the breast, but then spreads from the breast and maxillary (underarm) lymph nodes to other, nearby organs, such as the bones, lungs, brain, or liver. Recommended treatments for metastatic breast cancer are very different from treatments for earlier-stage breast cancer. Systemic therapy (e.g., chemotherapy, hormone therapy) is a common metastatic breast cancer treatment option. Also known as advanced breast cancer.
