Lenalidomide - The generic name for the brand name drug Revlimid®, lenalidomide is used in multiple myeloma treatment to stop or interfere with the growth of cancerous cells in the bone marrow. Lenalidomide is also used to help manage certain types of anemia (low red blood cell counts) in patients with 5q MDS (a type of myelodysplastic syndrome). Similar to thalidomide, lenalidomide belongs to the family of drugs called angiogenesis inhibitors and is administered in capsule form. Also called CC-5013.
