Ixmepra™

Ixmepra™ - The brand name for the generic drug ixabepilone, Ixmepra™ is an IV (intravenous) medication used in locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer chemotherapy treatment. A type of epothilone analog, Ixmepra™ works to stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking cell division. Ixmepra™ is normally indicated for use in breast cancer patients whose tumors are resistant to anthracyclines, taxanes, and capecitabine. When combined with capecitabine (Xeloda®), Ixmepra™ may help slow breast cancer cell progression better than capecitabine alone. Also called BMS-247550.
