Inflammation

Inflammation - The localized immune system response of vascular tissue to an injury, disease, or other irritant. Inflammation can cause redness, pain and swelling, accompanied by heat, in an area of the body. Inflammation is a normal protective reaction elicited by the body as it fights irritation, injury and disease.
