Immunotherapy - A treatment technique that involves the administration of agents into the body that help support the body's own immune system in fighting cancer, infections, and other diseases. Immunotherapy may also be used to reduce the side effects caused by some cancer treatments. Examples of agents used in immunotherapy include monoclonal antibodies and growth factors. Immunotherapy is also known as biological therapy, biotherapy, and biological response modifier (BRM) therapy.
