Head and Neck Cancer - Also known as H & N cancers, head and neck cancers include a group of cancers that affect the nose, sinuses, lips, mouth, salivary glands, throat, larynx (voice box), or lymph nodes of the neck. According the National Cancer Institute, approximately 85 percent of head and neck cancers are linked to tobacco use. Symptoms of head and neck cancers may include the following: persistent sore throat, difficulty swallowing, a sore or lump that will not heal, and/or a change in the voice. While treatment regimens vary on a patient-by-patient basis, the most common treatment options for head and neck cancers include surgery, radiation therapy, and/or chemotherapy.
