Gastric Cancer Symptoms - The type and severity of symptoms presented by gastric cancer depend on a variety of different patient-specific factors. In addition, symptoms may change as the cancer progresses. In early stages of gastric cancer, common symptoms may include the following: a decrease in appetite, a bloated feeling following meals, abdominal pain/discomfort, nausea, heartburn, and indigestion. Later stages of gastric cancer may be characterized by the following: bleeding stools, difficulty swallowing, jaundice (yellowing of eyes and skin), abdominal pain, vomiting, and unusual weight loss. Since gastric cancer symptoms may mimic the symptoms of other conditions, it is important to consult with a medical professional for an accurate diagnosis.
