Gallbladder Cancer Treatment - Treatment options for gallbladder cancer vary, depending on factors such as the stage and development of the cancer, as well as the patient's health. Surgical removal of the gallbladder (e.g., cholecystectomy) remains one of the most common gallbladder cancer treatment options. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy may also be used alone, or in addition to surgery, for gallbladder cancer treatment. If the cancer has spread and cannot be removed, various types of palliative surgery (e.g., surgical biliary bypass, endoscopic stent placement) may help relieve symptoms or prevent complications.
