Fractionated-Dose Chemotherapy - A form of chemotherapy treatment in which a standard chemotherapy dosage is divided into smaller doses and delivered over a period of several days. This method is different from traditional chemotherapy, in which anticancer drugs are administered in one large, single dose. Since fractionated-dose chemotherapy delivers lower doses of chemotherapy more often, this method may help to reduce the severity of side effects like nausea and vomiting. Also called metronomic chemotherapy.
