Esophageal Cancer Symptoms - In its early stages, esophageal cancer will generally not cause symptoms. In later stages, however, symptoms may include the following: pain or difficulty swallowing, the sensation of food getting stuck in the throat or chest, coughing up blood, indigestion/heartburn, and progressive weight loss. Because esophageal cancer symptoms also share many of the same characteristics as other non-cancerous conditions, it is important to consult a medical professional for an accurate diagnosis.
