Dacogen^®

Dacogen^®- The brand name for the generic drug decitabine, Dacogen^® is a cancer medicine used to prevent the spread of cancer cells throughout the body. It is a type of antimetabolite and is typically given through an intravenous (IV) line.

Dacogen^® is used in treating myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), which are certain types of blood and bone marrow cancers. Dacogen^® may help alleviate symptoms of MDS by helping the bone marrow function more normally, thus increasing red blood cell count, white blood cell count, and/or platelet count. It may also help fight MDS by correcting DNA abnormalities present in MDS.
