Cancer Care Team - A cancer care team is comprised of healthcare professionals who are called upon to share their expertise for the ultimate benefit of those living with and seeking treatment for cancer. Professionals on a cancer care team can include the following: medical, surgical, radiation, gynecologic, and orthopedic oncologists, as well as hematologists, immunologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, pathologists, neurologists, internists, oncology-certified nurses, pain management physicians, registered dietitians, naturopathic medicine providers, rehabilitation therapists, and more. When a cancer care team works together regularly, sharing knowledge and treatment protocols, patients receive streamlined care and a more personalized treatment plan.
