Breast Cancer Symptoms - Although the early stages of breast cancer may not present specific symptoms, as a tumor grows in size, the following breast cancer symptoms may occur: tenderness of the nipples, changes in size or shape of the breast, nipple discharge, nipple turning inward, a lump or thickening in the breast or underarm area, and changes in the skin color or texture of the breast. A doctor can determine whether or not these symptoms are in fact the result of breast cancer, or a different condition. Since the prognosis for breast cancer greatly improves the earlier breast cancer is found in the body, it is important to follow screening recommendations and be aware of any changes around and in the breast.
