Analgesic - The term for any pain-relieving medication (also known as painkillers). Examples of over-the-counter analgesics include aspirin (e.g., Bayer), ibuprofen (e.g., Advil, Motrin) and acetaminophen (e.g., Tylenol). Analgesics are often used as a pain management component in cancer treatment.
