Anal Cancer - A cancer that forms in tissues of the anus, or the opening of the rectum (the last several inches of the large intestine/colon) to the outside of the body. The following are some symptoms of anal cancer: rectal itching and/or bleeding, anal pain, swelling of lymph nodes in the anal or groin region, changes in stool diameter (stool may be narrower than usual), and abnormal anal discharge. Anal cancer treatment options vary. However, the most common treatments include one or more of the following: surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
