Adjuvant Therapy - A type of therapy that follows a primary cancer treatment like surgery or radiation therapy. Adjuvant therapy aims to help destroy any remaining cancerous cells in the body and/or help prevent the cancer from coming back (recurring). Common forms of adjuvant therapy include chemotherapy, radiation therapy and hormone therapy.
