Fractionated-Dose Chemotherapy for Esophageal Cancer
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) has been offering fractionated-dose chemotherapy as an esophageal cancer treatment for several years. Fractionated-dose chemotherapy differs from conventional chemotherapy in that the total dosage is broken into smaller amounts and administered over a period of three to five days, rather than in a single, larger dose. Not only does this allow the chemotherapy drugs to work against cancer cells for a longer period of time, but it also helps to make your esophageal cancer treatment more tolerable by helping to reduce commonly associated side effects (e.g., nausea, vomiting).
