Surgical Oncologist
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, board-certified general surgeon who has successfully completed a fellowship program in surgical oncology. Candidates will have experience with liver resections, RFA, whipple surgery, as well as major abdominal, breast and endocrine surgeries.
Our clinicians practice in a truly integrated environment, where patients are provided with a standard of care, such as protocol chemotherapy with access to a palliative care team, mind-body medicine, strong nutritional support, and spiritual counseling. With a high nurse-to-patient ratio, most of whom have ONS certification, you will have more time to spend with patients. Because we are a single specialty hospital, you will not compete for OR time. Furthermore, our new ICU suites provide intensive care options to manage high-risk patients.
There are opportunities to participate in investigator-initiated clinical trials. Current trials include:
- Biologically based therapies with patient-specific vaccines
- Activated immune cell-based therapies
- Molecular and functional characterization of patient tumor tissue and response
In addition, an extensive portfolio of drug studies is under way.
Our physicians have onsite offices and are assigned an advanced practice nurse to assist in patient management. You will have responsibilities for both inpatient and clinic patients. However, we do have a full-time hospitalist staff that works in conjunction with the surgical staff to manage patient outcomes.
We use an Electronic Health Records system at all of our hospitals. With state-of-the-art technologies, including onsite IMRT/PET/CT and TomoTherapy®, you will have the tools you need to best serve our patient population.
