A Better Quality of Life
Work-Life Balance
At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), we do everything possible to improve our patients’ quality of life throughout their cancer journeys. The quality of your life is equally important to us.
Achieving an optimal work-life balance is essential to experiencing a better quality of life. We know that, in many respects, it’s what makes our employees happy and gives them the confidence and assurance to plan on a long-term future with our organization.
Below are some of the ways in which we help you to establish a balance between your career at CTCA and your personal life.
The time you need to focus on your patients
We give you the freedom to do what you do best—treat patients. Tasks such as billing and insurance paperwork and hiring support staff are left in the hands of our capable, full-time team of administrative experts. We also have hospitalists and physician assistants on staff, as well as a high nurse-to-patient ratio. All of the resources (staff, technology, etc.) you’ll work with reside under one roof. This makes it convenient and efficient and reduces stress for you and your patients. Furthermore, we work with you to ensure you are comfortable with the number of patients you see on a daily basis.
A rewarding career
Time and again, our employees say that their careers at CTCA are by far the most fulfilling and personally satisfying ones they have ever had. Every day we touch the lives of our patients and their families, and are blessed and rewarded in return in the most wonderful ways. Sometimes, it’s a hug or a smile, or even a thank you letter. Other times, it’s simply a return visit for a checkup, one year later…five years later, and so on. Our patients truly are like family. We revel in watching them win their battle.
Empowering you
We provide you with the support you need and encourage your ideas. Just as you empower your patients to actively participate in decisions about the management and treatment of their disease, we empower you to help us shape the future of cancer care.
Our oncologists apply leading protocols and the most targeted therapies available to treat cancer. Yet, we also encourage them to be creative, bold and aggressive in their approach. We challenge them to find treatments that have the greatest potential to be successful for each patient.
And as part of our tireless pursuit to bring innovative therapies to our patients as quickly as possible, our physicians are also encouraged to develop groundbreaking clinical trials.
Innovative technology & tools
We equip you with the most sophisticated technology available for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. For example, consider technology purchased for our cutting-edge interventional programs, such as Siemens' Angio-CT MIYABI for interventional radiology and a navigational bronchoscopy system for interventional pulmonology. Other advanced technologies and tools we’ve acquired include: Varian's Trilogy® & RapidArc™ systems, Calypso® 4D Localization System™, and TomoTherapy® HI-ART Systems®.
In addition, in early 2008, we implemented an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system that centralizes information and streamlines communication across all of our hospitals. The EHR system permits you to evaluate and follow every aspect of your patients’ treatment at our facilities. It helps our clinicians to communicate treatment plans, recommendations and orders effectively and efficiently. And, it allows us to minimize errors and turnaround times, expedite scheduling for diagnostics and procedures, and ultimately, improve patient care.
