State-of-the-Art Technology
As a physician member of CTCA’s integrative care team, you are on the front lines of the battle against cancer. We therefore believe it’s crucial to provide you with the best tools, and the most cutting edge technology. Our innovative approach also means that we are often among the first to adopt new technologies.
IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy)
This state-of-the art radiation delivery system has been called the most significant breakthrough in radiation treatment in the past thirty years.
Employing a powerful, advanced computer program you can plan a precise dose of radiation in three dimensions, based on individual tumor size, shape and location. The advantages of this are exciting. You can target difficult to reach tumors with a greater level of accuracy at higher doses than otherwise possible. Click Here to learn more about IRMT.
3-D Conformal Imaging and Treatment Planning
This highly advanced tool actually maps the size, shape and location of a tumor with pinpoint accuracy. This kind of information allows you to treat the tumor precisely and aggressively, sparing surrounding tissue. Click Here to learn more about 3-D Conformal Radiation.
HDR Brachytherapy
This unique radiation delivery technology allows you to treat your patient’s tumors internally. A balloon device is placed inside the site of the tumor, where seeds of radiation are then delivered. This allows for more accurate treatment with fewer external side effects and a shorter treatment period. Click Here to learn more about HDR Brachytherapy.
BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant)
Cancer Treatment Centers of America gives you the advanced capabilities to offer your patients the option of bone marrow transplant and autologous stem cell rescue. This treatment allows the patient to tolerate higher doses of chemotherapy. In autologous BMT, the patient’s own bone marrow and stem cells are removed, filtered and returned after the intensive chemotherapy, effectively "rescuing" the cells. These are just some of the breakthrough treatments you will have access to as a CTCA physician.
