At Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), we know how important it is for you to have a team of expert clinicians focused exclusively on your cancer type. It’s why we created our Breast Center.
Building on the Patient Empowered Care® model, the Breast Center brings together a multidisciplinary team of clinicians—including a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, surgeon and plastic surgeon, as well as the care manager, nurse navigator, dietitian and naturopathic doctor—with training and experience specifically in treating breast cancer patients.
The Breast Center offers you several benefits, including:
- Access to the latest breast cancer research, including new treatment and diagnostic techniques, such as genomic testing
- A treatment plan that’s developed and modified, as needed, with a quicker turnaround time
- An integrated team of specialists in constant collaboration and focused primarily on breast cancer treatment and care
Team of breast cancer experts
Your care team will include both medical doctors and other clinicians who practice integrative therapies—all who focus on breast cancer treatment. Each team member brings a different perspective about your care. They work collaboratively to provide you with treatment options tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Advanced treatment options
Your care team will offer treatment options based on your breast cancer type and other specifics about the disease, as well as your goals for treatment and cosmetic appearance. Clinicians practicing integrative therapies, such as nutrition therapy and naturopathic medicine, will recommend ways to help you combat side effects, boost your immune system and maintain your well-being.
Your breast cancer treatment options may include:
Integrative therapies can help you manage any side effects you experience during and after treatment. Therapies may include:
In addition, CTCA now offers expanded genomic tumor assessment that may identify breast cancer treatment options not previously considered. This diagnostic tool reveals the DNA alterations that are driving the growth of a cancer. As we understand more about these gene mutations, we are better able to provide cancer therapies that specifically target changes in the tumor's genomic profile. Your oncologist will help determine if you are a good candidate for genomic testing.
