As a clinical oncology dietitian, Jakubowski provides nutrition consultations and recommendations customized for each patient. She works to help patients maintain strength and manage treatment side effects, such as nausea or decreased appetite. She also collaborates with clinicians and doctors within the multidisciplinary care team.
“My goal in working with patients at CTCA® is to help optimize their bodies’ ability to fight cancer and tolerate treatments,” says Jakubowski. “I actively listen to my patients to customize their nutrition plan and address their personal needs and food preferences.” If needed, Jakubowski can also provide alternative nutrition such as parenteral nutrition.
Jakubowski earned a bachelor’s degree in nutritional sciences from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She went on to complete a dietetic internship at Sodexo NY/Philadelphia with a medical nutrition therapy emphasis.
From 2013 to 2016, Jakubowski worked as a clinical dietitian at a health care system. She provided nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education and counseling of hospitalized patients and patients receiving outpatient radiation. Jakubowski is a member of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Outside of CTCA, Jakubowski likes spending time with her husband, hiking, traveling and camping. She also enjoys trying new activities and seeking new experiences.
