“The environment here is nurturing to patients, caregivers and health care providers,” says June Rhoda, Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Philadelphia. “That enables patients to receive optimal care.”

Rhoda earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Moravian College. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of South Alabama, obtaining credentials as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Emergency Nurse Practitioner.

Since 2008, Rhoda has worked as an advanced practice nurse. At the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, part of Dartmouth Medical Center, Rhoda was a Nurse Practitioner in Hematology/Oncology, caring for patients with breast, prostate, lung, colon, pancreatic and other cancers. She was also an Instructor of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and served as Clinical Nurse Practitioner in Medical Oncology at a large hospital in the Philadelphia area. She has served on several clinical trials focused on palliative care, survivorship and supportive care. She joined CTCA in May 2014.

Rhoda is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner by the Advanced Oncology Certification Corporation. She is a Licensed Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner by the State of Pennsylvania.

At CTCA, Rhoda helps patients manage cancer-related symptoms and treatment, coordinates care, educates patients and families, and provides supportive care, including counseling about managing life after cancer.

Rhoda is dedicated to helping her patients maintain a quality of life that meets or exceeds their personal expectations. “Many patients struggle with balancing cancer care with their daily lives,” says Rhoda. “I strive to make the medical oncology care we provide work around patients’ lives, rather than having the patients’ lives revolve around their care.”
