Registered and licensed dietitian Jill Guiseppe is proud to serve patients and be a member of the Nutrition & Metabolic Support Department at CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia.
“I think it’s really great how the doctors and entire staff acknowledge how important the role of nutrition is in patients’ overall treatment and recovery,” she notes.
Guiseppe is board certified in nutrition support. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Pennsylvania State University and completed a dietetic internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association.
Prior to joining CTCA in October 2011, Guiseppe served as a dietitian at hospitals in New York, North Carolina and Massachusetts.
Guiseppe recalls what inspired her to become a dietitian, “Being an athlete and dancer growing up, I was always interested in nutrition. But, I found my love of oncology during my internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where I had the opportunity to work closely with dietitians at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I was then lucky enough to obtain a job right out of my internship working in oncology nutrition. It really reinforced my love of working with cancer patients.”
She adds, “I also lost my mom to breast cancer at a young age, so I’ve always felt like working with cancer patients has been a way to honor her memory.”
