“What I enjoy most about working at CTCA is the collegial atmosphere. The way everyone smiles and says hello to each other is something that is often missing in today's healthcare facilities,” says Dr. Jeffrey Heit, Medical Director of Hospitalists at CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center.
Before joining CTCA in February 2013, Dr. Heit worked as an emergency room physician at a hospital in Philadelphia. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as a physician at an internal medicine practice in Philadelphia, the last six years of which he was Lead Physician.
During that time, he also served as Chief of Internal Medicine at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia and four years as Medical Director at a long-term care facility in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
Dr. Heit earned a Doctor of Medicine at New York University’s School of Medicine, where he was awarded the Alan Friedland Memorial Award for Excellence in Internal Medicine. He then completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Dr. Heit also holds an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business in College Park, MD. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from C.U.N.Y. Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY, where he graduated summa cum laude.
