John M. McNeil
John McNeil, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Eastern Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia,
understands healthcare from the inside out. Before he became an executive, Mr. McNeil earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and worked as a nurse. After transitioning into an
administrative role, he returned to school and earned a Master of Health Administration degree. Mr. McNeil then went on to serve in a variety of leadership roles at hospitals around the
country before joining the team at CTCA.
His major accomplishments at CTCA include: opening the Philadelphia hospital, which has treated more than 5,000 patients in less than six years; forging partnerships with
community leaders and organizations throughout the city like Susan G. Komen, iPraxis and the Philadelphia Youth Network; and, acquiring innovative pieces of technology such as the
Novac7, which performs Intraoperative Radiation Therapy, as well as the BSD-2000 Deep Tissue Hyperthermia machine, to help give patients the best chance to fight their disease.
Mr. McNeil was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2011 Healthcare Innovation Awards as CEO of the Year. He is a fellow of the American College of
Healthcare Executives and serves as a board member for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
