Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Eastern Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia. As a CTCA volunteer, you will play an important and valued role in restoring healing and hope in the lives of many.
Joining the CTCA Volunteer Program is a commitment to service. Volunteer activities include opportunities to interact with patients through traditional services, as well as those that operate behind the scenes. Volunteer assignments exist in clinical and nonclinical areas of the hospital, including nursing, hospital offices, guest services, radiology, the information desk, business services, and other hospitality locations.
Volunteer Programs at CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center
Some of our volunteer opportunities
- Adult program–Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school program–Must be at least 16 years of age
- Annual community resource day
- Fundraising program
- Annual shadowing day
- Annual community clean up
Program requirements
- Completed application process (background check, drug screening and reference check)
- Immunization record for measles, mumps, rubella, and chicken pox (MMR must be administered two times)
- Results of a PPD test for tuberculosis administered within three months prior to the volunteer's start date
- Commitment of 100 hours of volunteer service within a 12-month period of time
- Volunteer services and departmental interview
- Attendance at hospital orientation
- Specific hospital and departmental training
- Abide by uniform and dress codes
- Punctuality and consistent attendance, accomplishing minimum service requirements
