The Laboratory puts you and your needs first. According to Kellom, most cancer hospitals batch laboratory tests. This means they do certain tests on certain days of the week. At CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center, when the Laboratory gets an order, they promptly do the test.
“A lot of places, batch tests and only do them one day a week. This is more to the convenience of their staff and their staffing than to the convenience of the patient. Here, we work for the convenience of the patient,” says Kellom.
