Determining your pulmonary treatment schedule
Since each interventional procedure involves a different treatment regime, based on the type of therapy and the efficacy of the drug, there are usually set days for certain procedures. Procedures typically take place Monday through Friday, and on the weekends on an as-needed basis. However, your schedule ultimately dictates the procedure schedule.
Morrow says at CTCA, she is able to ask patients “Is this a good time for you?” rather than tell them when the doctor can see them. She says she will ask what time they get out of work and accommodate each patient’s schedule as much as possible.
“It’s on the patient’s schedule. It depends on what is happening with them. We don’t do things that would make them not be able to get back home. We adjust their care to make them comfortable and to fit their lifestyle. It’s so different from anywhere else. We definitely take the patient’s schedule and lifestyle into consideration,” says Morrow.
