In his role as Medical Director of Radiology, Dr. Scott Price recognizes the importance of providing quality care to cancer patients. “Several of my close family members developed cancer. I realized there needed to be a better way to evaluate and treat cancer patients. That is why I came to CTCA,” says Dr. Price.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Price completed a four-year residency in radiology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. In the last year of his residency, he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Price then completed a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Prior to joining CTCA, Dr. Price spent over 10 years as an Interventional Radiologist at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where he later served as the Chairman of the Department of Radiology. He also spent four years as Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Central Montgomery Medical Center in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
Skilled in technologically-advanced radiology, Dr. Price has published works and given presentations on percutaneous cholecystotomy and spinal cord afflictions. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
A tremendous addition to CTCA family, Dr. Price has expertise in treating tumors of the spine and liver. “[At CTCA], we offer special treatment options, including hepatic chemoembolization and radiofrequency ablation for primary and metastatic liver tumors, as well as vertrebroplasty for compressions of the spine due to tumors and other conditions such as osteoporosis,” explains Dr. Price.
When asked what he likes best about CTCA, Dr. Price says, “I love the integrated approach whereby our doctors and various specialists from conventional and complementary medicine departments discuss treatment options for our patients.”
As a personal goal, Dr. Price strives to restore a good quality of life to each of his patients. Additionally, Dr. Prices says he derives satisfaction from spending time with his patients, discussing treatment options and answering their questions.
Dr. Price is a member of the American College of Radiology, the American Medical Association, the Society of Interventional Radiology, and the Bucks County Medical Society. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
