Lydia Komarnicky, M.D. – Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Lydia Komarnicky graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1981, and then trained in pathology and radiation oncology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Her background includes extensive clinical research and teaching experience with Bodine Center for Cancer Treatment at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the Division of Radiation Oncology Department at Lankenau Hospital, and the Department of Radiation Oncology at Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Komarnicky was also the Residency Program Director at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Currently, Dr. Komarnicky is a radiation oncologist at CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center. Dr. Komarnicky is also the Clinical Service Chief in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Hahnemann University Hospital, the Cancer Liaison Physician of the Commission on Cancer at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine, and the Professor and Chair of Radiation Oncology at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr. Komarnicky has served on numerous institutional and extramural committees, and is well known for her involvement in educational activities and lectures. She has also published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and authored the book What To Do If You Get Breast Cancer.

Dr. Komarnicky belongs to several professional associations, including the American College of Radiology, American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Roentgen Ray Society, American Radium Society, Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society, and the North American Hyperthermia Society.
