“My overall goal for patients is to keep them comfortable and make sure their pain is adequately controlled so they can have an improved quality of life,” says Elizabeth Eiser, Manager of the Pain Management Department at CTCA at Eastern Regional Medical Center (Eastern).
A certified physician assistant, Eiser has worked in a variety of health care settings, including internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, surgery, emergency medicine, intensive care, neurology, radiology, and geriatrics/psychiatry.
Eiser earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of New Jersey in Trenton, New Jersey.
Before coming to CTCA, Eiser spent five years as a physician assistant at Hamilton Health Care Center in Hamilton, New Jersey. Before then, she served as a physician assistant at the Rehabilitation Hospital of South Jersey in Vineland, New Jersey.
Eiser joined CTCA in June 2008. She says Eastern’s Pain Management Department collaborates with all clinical areas, especially the Outpatient Clinic, Department of Radiation Oncology, and Infusion Center.
“What I like best about CTCA is the integration of all the departments. Here, we work together to develop a comprehensive and personalized plan tailored to the individual needs of each patient,” says Eiser.
In addition, Eiser says at CTCA she is able to provide personalized care for patients. “Relieving pain is crucial to improving not only a patient’s quality of life, but also their overall well being. Since pain is subjective and varies for each individual, the key component is listening to the patient and letting them take control of their pain,” says Eiser.
Eiser is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
